About the Universal Human Values (UHV) Cell
The Universal Human Values Cell of CSMSS Chh. Shahu College of Engineering, Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, is established to nurture holistic education by integrating ethical, moral, and humanistic perspectives into technical learning. The Cell aims to nurture responsible and self-aware engineers who contribute positively to society through integrity, empathy, and sustainable practices.
It organizes orientation programs, student induction programs (SIP), faculty development workshops, and interactive sessions that encourage self-exploration, mutual respect, and harmonious living. Through these activities, the UHV Cell fosters a campus culture that balances technological excellence with human values, aligning with the vision of AICTE to develop socially responsible and value-driven professionals.

To foster a value-based academic environment that blends technical excellence with ethics, empathy, and social responsibility, shaping CSMSS Chh. Shahu College of Engineering students into competent engineers and compassionate contributors to society.
Mission
- To promote awareness and practice of Universal Human Values among students, Teaching, and Non-Teaching for peaceful coexistence and sustainable living.
- To integrate human values education into engineering and technology curricula, fostering ethical and socially responsible professionals.
- To organize UHV courses, workshops, and self-exploration sessions that encourage reflection, mutual respect, and inner harmony.
- To collaborate with AICTE, UGC, University and other institutions to strengthen value-based education and faculty development initiatives.
- To nurture a campus culture grounded in trust, respect, and shared human values.
Objectives
- To integrate Universal Human Values (UHV) into academic, co-curricular, and institutional practices in alignment with AICTE guidelines, fostering integrity, empathy, and self-awareness among students and faculty.
- To build institutional capacity for UHV implementation through orientation programs, Student Induction Programs (SIP), and refresher courses that sensitize faculty and students to the importance of ethics and holistic development.
- To promote research, innovation, and community engagement that address ethical, sustainable, and social dimensions, contributing to societal well-being and environmental responsibility.
- To strengthen institutional collaboration and continuous improvement by partnering with national and regional bodies promoting human values, and by regularly assessing the impact and effectiveness of UHV initiatives to nurture socially responsible graduates.
Functions of the Universal Human Values (UHV) Cell
- Implementation of Value-Based Education: Integrates Universal Human Values into academic curricula and co-curricular activities in alignment with AICTE guidelines.
- Coordination of Student Induction Program (SIP): Plans and conducts the mandatory induction program for first-year students, focusing on self-awareness, empathy, and understanding human relationships.
- Faculty Development and Training: Organizes Faculty Development Programs (FDPs), orientation sessions, and workshops on Universal Human Values to build a community of value-oriented educators.
- Awareness and Sensitization Activities: Conducts seminars, talks, exhibitions, and competitions to spread awareness of ethics, human values, and responsible citizenship.
- Community Outreach and Social Initiatives: Engages students and faculty in social initiatives promoting harmony, environmental care, and community well-being.
- Research and Innovation in Human Values: Encourages interdisciplinary projects, case studies, and publications focusing on ethics, sustainability, and human-centric technology.
- Monitoring and Evaluation: Reviews and assesses the effectiveness of UHV initiatives through feedback, reflection sessions, and periodic reports to ensure continuous improvement.
